TC 10KM
This morning Jermaine and I ran in the Times Colonist 10km Race. We both put down we would complete in 1hr 7min. We did better then that! I did 1:03:56 and Jerm did 1:04:01. The whole time I was running i was thinking of Ma. I really felt her with me and it was such a great feeling. The last km and a half was getting hard because I was starting to get blisters but I just thought to myself - if Ma could fight cancer, go through chemo and fight until the bitter end for 6 years I can run this race. The very end I felt her carry me through. As soon as I saw that finish line i felt the urge to just run as fast as I could. It was an amazing feeling. I am pretty overwhelmed with emotions right now - 8months to the day she passed. I love and miss her so much it is hard to put it into words. Lately I have found situations come up that she was really great at helping out and giving advise. I am not sure what else to write about right now.. just wanted to brag about the run! Pedro's Trash a dress...
Well this will be my second time writing. I did wait a while to write this one (those stories will come later) but on this monday night, with Jerm at work until midnight, I find myself thinking about what has happened this year so far!
January 1, 2010 came and went very fast. I feel like it was just last month and then I look at the calendar and realize it is April 19 already!!!
January 23 was the day of our Don't trash the Dress photo shoot. Everyone keeps saying it was YOUR photo shoot dont say "our"... but to be honest it was OUR photo shoot because Jerm, Erin and myself (along with two great new friends Nicole and Shealyn) got to hang out get dressed up and take some AWESOME photos in Parksville!!

This photo shoot was soo much fun and I will recommend it to everyone I know!! I wish I had invited the whole wedding party to come and have a fun relaxed day and take some amazing photos but hey there is the wisdom I can pass down to who ever wants it!!
We started the shoot on some awesome rail road tracks just outside the town of parksville. We were having a great time hanging out, music bumpin', cars driving buy and honking thinking we just got married **HOW CUTE** It was kind of like having our wedding day all over again but we got to get my dress as dirty as we wanted!!!
I was starting to get into the mood and really have fun. All of the sudden, as we are laying on the tracks, ding ding ding ding ding ding... we hear the sounds of the gates closing and that the train is a coming!!!! We jump up and get off the tracks but stay close. I could not hear a thing, Nicole and Shealyn are yelling kiss kiss, Jerm is trying to kiss me, as the train had passed I realized what they wanted... teehee... it made for a great shot none the less.
After the tracks we went to the historical museum and got some awesome shots against log cabins, jumping off the stairs of an old church and Erin got some personal shots done! TSSSSSS!
Once the historical museum was done we were off to my TOP SPOT the skate park. I think if you have known me for a long period of time you will know my love of skate shoes. They are oh so comfy and can be paired with any attire weather it be High School Graduation, Chilln' on a regular day or "Trashing" your wedding dress. There is always an appropriate skate shoe that will match your outfit - TRUST ME!

Jermaine also made sure he dressed up for the occasion... Tux and all!
After the skate park session was done we moved on the the beach and ocean! I must say in some ways i wished i had gone all the way in but it was January, 3:00pm and was starting to rain....It was damn cold out!!! I am glad i brought my gumbies with me because they sure saved my feeties!! Even though I did not go all the way in the ocean i absolutely LOVE the shots that came from the beach. They are just amazing i am not really sure how else to describe them to be honest. Mad props to Nicole and Shealyn they are, as i have said so many times before, two amazing ladies!!
All in all going to Parksville with 4 great friends to trash my dress was an amazing day. I will never ever forget! It was just as special as our wedding day - just in a different way

The beginning of this blog was suppose to be about, and was titled, 2010 - Marriage, birthdays and Mexico but I have come to realize I think I really wanted to share my little story about trashing my dress. I have now changed the title to Pedro's Trash a dress...
I think now that I have have written a full blog here with some content I will broach the other topics in their own separate Blogs!
